A little more about this exciting event: This one of a kind event will include anime-inspired food. We are thrilled to announce that we will have a very special guest, the Pokémon voice actor Emily Cramer! Moreover, there will be vendors who not only be bringing an eclectic array of Pokemon related products and merchandise, but will also present to you Yugioh, Dragonball, Naruto, One Piece, and much more! Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival is a Japanese Festival, that celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). Celebrate this festive night with mouth watering Japanese treats & selected Sake. You will get to indulge in the true Upstairs night market experience, where we will be transforming all 20,000 square feet of Japan Village into an Anime Food Festival featuring:
- Special guest, Pokémon voice actor Emily Cramer! Autograph, photo sessions with fans, the chance to chat with Emily and special goods! All this excitement will take place between 2pm-5pm at the 2nd floor.
- Mouthwatering popular Japanese menu with a beautiful Japanese inspired ambiance. Our Anime inspired food menu includes Tanjiro's Unagi YakiOnigiri, Misato's Curry Rice, Goku's Aburi Samon Sushi, Rengoku's Beef Bento, Luffy's Yakitori (Skewers), Pikachu Grilled Corn, Sanji's Whole grilled squid, Bunny pudding, Yuzu burnt basque cheesecake, Matcha Mochi cookies and so much more for your tastebuds to explore! The price range for the delicious food items is between $5-$15.

- Make a wish! One popular Tanabata custom is to write one's wishes on a piece of paper, and hang that piece of paper on a specially erected bamboo tree, in the hope that the wishes become true. You can write your wishes on a piece of paper and hang it to the bamboo tree.
- Super photogenic backdrop (it’s a Lantern City) as backdrop to the festive atmosphere
- Large outdoor patio along with two Japanese architecture style village cabins.
- It is highly encouraged to come with cosplay! You will get one extra raffle ticket!

Voice actor, Emily Cramer presents

Autograph, Taking photo together, chat with Emily, special goods! Emily is a voice actor and singer, whose work can be heard internationally in commercials, animated television shows, movies, video games, dark rides, and audio dramas. Her most notable titles are currently Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS, The Winx Club, Bread Barbershop, Battle Game In 5 Seconds, EDF World Brothers, many Yu-Gi-Oh video games, and Genshin Impact. Before falling in love with voiceover, Emily performed for many years in broadway and national touring productions of Shrek the Musical, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables, and School of Rock. Emily grew up in Boston, has lived in NYC for nearly 20 years, and loves to figure skate in her spare time! Art and Dance Performance by Let Hair Down

She started her dance training at the age of 6 in a local dance studio in Japan, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with BFA degree in Dance from SUNY Purchase College. She has performed in dance works by various choreographers, including Martha Graham, Francesca Harper, Yoshiko Chuma, Ana Maria Lucaciu, Erin Landers, and Meagan Ahern. She is also performing at Washington Square Park recently and known as “Let Hair Down.” She was featured in a NYC recovery promotional project “No Stopping New York” led by NYC government in 2021 summer season, and her articles were published in New York Magazine, AM New York, The Villager, The Village Sun, Arc’teryx official website, among others. While she continues to perform different locations in New York City daily, she is also teaching improvisation dance class at PIZARTS Dance Gap Year Program.

Based in NY, HipHop x Drumming new world. “ Dance like Drumming, Drum like Dancing “ Cobu, based in New York City, was created as a Live Rhythm Performing Arts Group in 2000. Yako Miyamoto, the founder of Cobu is a current member of the off broadway-hit STOMP. Cobu combines elements of the Japanese traditional Taiko drumming with rhythmic Tap dancing. The extremely positive impact of the performance has received rave reviews from The New York Times and The Chicago Sun Times. and has touched audiences through major festivals in Boston and Chicago.
